If so, it will be with your settlement papers. If not, call the settlement attorney or agency where the settlement took place and request one.
Otherwise, you will have to hire a surveyor to do the work. But it is a requirement that you be provided a survey when you buy a property in Virginia. |||You have to hire a land survey company. It is pricey, but is the only way to be absolutely sure where your property line begins and your neighbors ends. If you don%26#039;t get one, and measure the land yourself, and you are wrong, and put the fence on their property, (even an inch) you could be made to take it down. Be safe and hire an expert. Price may be between $500 to $1,000 depending on the size of your lot.|||You can either go to the Recorder of Deeds office to get a copy of your plat, or you can go to the County Assessors department to get the boundary lines.
