Dog fencing for a very uneven wooded area?

What would be the best type of fencing for a very uneven wooded area (with trees, rocks, banks, plants galore) that would keep dogs in? Preferably something metal.

Thanks!

(Durability and effectiveness matters most, then price, and looks is last, as long as it doesn%26#039;t look like a prison, lol)

Thanks again!|||The answer to your fencing problem may be an electric field fence where the dog wears a collar and is deterred from going through the electric field. There is actually no fence there it is an invisable electric field. This copes with uneven ground and trees etc. does not harm or hurt dog and they quickly learn where is out of bounds etc.

try looking at the website of Company of animals UK or you may find links from there.|||This is the kind of fencing around my property. The former owners installed it in the 70%26#039;s and it%26#039;s still going strong.

It keeps my lab in and my neighbors 2 BIG dogs out. My yard is hilly and the wire forms to the lay of the land well. We need to create a smaller kennel area and we will use this kind of material there too.

A different neighbor tried the wireless fence but it doesn%26#039;t work in our area because the gophers chew through the wire.

Good luck.|||Chain link is what comes to my mind but, unless you get someone to do it for you you are looking at a heck of a lot of work. It would do the job in a location such as yours and is durable as well as economical (except for the installation expense). It also doesn%26#039;t look TERRIBLE, comes in many heights, and could be planted with a vining plant such as an ivy or honeysuckle to make it more appealing.

  1. Look at the woven 2"x4" non-climb. Since it is woven, it has some flexibility to "rack" over uneven ground.
