500 foot roll of fencing on a large field, what are the largest dimensions of the largest yard & area?

i have this question as homework for algebra 2.

and i was wondering what the answer is.

or how to solve for it.

theres 500 foot roll of fencing and its on a large yard; what are the dimensions of the largest yard%26#039;s and area ?|||You%26#039;ll get the largest enclosure if it%26#039;s circular. I assume you can find the area of a circle with circumference of 500.

I%26#039;m guessing (because you left out details), that the yard is rectangular, since that makes for a more interesting problem.

if x is one side, and you use all 500 feet, then 2 sides use up 2x, and the other two sides use up 500-2x so they must be 250 -x each. So the area is x(250-x). Now use simple calculus to find the minimum of this function. A%26#039; = 250-2x, = 0 when x=125. What shape does this give you?
