i would really like to try fencing. i%26#039;ve always wanted to do it.
but i%26#039;ve had loads of failed sports before, ones that i wanted to do it, but lacked the talent of.
i play tennis and volleyball now, which i%26#039;m good at, but i%26#039;m not interested in those. i just take those because i want to get credits for college.
but how do i convince my parents that fencing is the sport for me? i would like to take lessons. is it expensive?|||Fencing is a great, unique sport and it%26#039;s a lot of fun. But don%26#039;t get me wrong--it takes a bit of practice (and patience!) before you develop proper coordination and technique. I%26#039;ve been fencing for a couple of years, but I%26#039;ve enjoyed every sweaty minute of it.
It is true that some universities will offer fencing scholarships as long as they have a reputable fencing team. Other universities (such as mine) have fencing as a club sport, purely recreational but just as fun.
Finding a place that offers fencing lessons can be a bit tricky. Do you know of any places in your area that offers it? If so, then you can probably expect to pay a premium since fencing is somewhat uncommon among other competitive sports.
As far as cost for equipment is concerned, it depends on how all-out you want to go. Most websites have starter kits (mask, foil weapon, glove, jacket, and a carrying case) for a little over $100. Check out www.blue-gauntlet.com or www.absolutefencinggear.com.
I hope this helps!|||fencing is quite expensive, my father in-law just got his place done. the total cost was $3650, although he went half%26#039;s with his neighbours!|||ur choice is good. As a sports person concentrate in one game. Tell ur parents in fencing we r fully covered. also explain to them we can get admission to the college by the way of sports. I do not know what r u studing. if u r studing in school try to concentrate in one game and get medals and partcitpate in various competition
