When fencing epee, how does one properly salute their opponent and director?

I%26#039;ve seen many different variations. Which one is the proper one?|||I don%26#039;t know if this is %26quot;the%26quot; proper salute, but it is certainly %26quot;a%26quot; proper salute. (basically the same for Epee, Foil, or Saber...) At the guard line, stand in ready position (not on-guard), bring the bell of the epee (point up) with a sharp snap to about nose level and quickly extend the weapon arm and point toward your opponent and down to your side, and then repeat the action to the director. Eye contact certainly helps as a sign of respect.

The same action at the end of each bout should occur, followed by the removal of the mask and advancing to your opponent to shake off-weapon hands.
