What's the best way to clean the green crusty algae-like crud off of galvanized steel fencing ?

and radio towers?? Also, do I need to primer before painting (enamel based paint), or should I use acrylic?|||you could pressure wash it off|||a pressure washer with a bleach-soap-algicide mix.do not make the mix solution too strong if you have grass or desireable plants in the work area, it will kill them! Always use a primer, degrease and remove any loose debris. A primer helps a topcoat adhere better and protect better.|||bleach is the best way to attack algae and you should always prime anything first cause it will extend the life of the paint job...and make sure to read the labels at the paint store to see which is best for steel...good luck
