does anyone know what someone would charge for a job like this?|||Almost all fence contractors will hesitate to do the job if you buy the material. Most provide the labor and the material. As a general rule the labor should not excede 2X the cost of the material. It figures out 33% for material, 33% for the labor, and 33% for profit to cover cost of running a business ie: phone, secratary, office expenses, ect. ect. ect.|||You also need a building permit and a land survey. I am not a contractor but my guess $3000???? Labor is not cheap any more... Could be more --depends where you live...|||Before I gave up on trying to find a contractor I liked and was licensed, bonded, and insured, I was getting prices from $26 to $34 dollars per lineal foot (materials and labor). That was the price for a six foot tall redwood, dog-eared plank fence that used 3/4%26quot; x 6%26quot; x 6%26#039; planks mounted on two 2%26quot; x 4%26quot; rails and attached to 2 3/8%26quot; OD x *%26#039; round steel posts embedded in concrete located 8%26#039; on center. This was in Los Angeles, CA. I eventually ended up doing the job with the help of my neighbor and I know we saved some money and the job was of a much higher quality. We used three rails instead of just two. We allowed the wood to dry out before installing it to avoid the cracks between the slats that occur when the wood is installed before it is completely dry. We also water sealed the wood before we installed it. Your materials cost of $1300 for 200%26#039; works out to $6.50 per foot which seems pretty cheap. We paid $3.00 per slat (5 1/2%26quot; wide each) that does not even account for the rails, posts, cement, wood sealer, screws (we used six screws on each slat) and any hardware for a gate.|||All they can get you to pay. Probably about 3 times the cost of the material.|||MOST CHARE 75 - 100 DOLLARS PER EIGHT FOOT SECTION TIMES 25 SECTIONS @ 8-FEET =200-FEET
25 X 75=`$1875
25 X 100 =$2500|||Between $4.50 and $5.00 a foot
