On a second floor roof terrace, is there a legal requirement for the height of the railings/fencing?

Usually above a certain height off the ground not only height requirements but structual reinforcements, materials, design and a permit/inspection are often required too.

In the Oregon county I%26#039;m in any deck, terrace, etc 36%26quot; above the ground is supposed to meet regulations and have a building permit issued.|||Im sure there are building codes depending on where you are living. Usually around 36%26quot; tends to keep people and their center of gravity from falling of your roof.... even if its not required... why risk it? And Im sure you can trust yourself but if you bring anyone else up there.... people can do stupid things... and they sue for even more stupid things.....|||Forget about leagal requirements %26amp; give priority to your safety requirements!
