A neighbor has placed 400 head of buffalo on a 160 acre pivot. A four wire fence does not seem adequate to contain them. Our laws do not reflect protection for neighbors, other livestock or motorists on a nearby highway. Do other states legislate containment requirements? If so, what?|||Here are two fairly comprehensive sites:

The 2nd site has this:
%26quot;Handling facilities are similar to that of cattle but fences must be a minimum of six feet and chutes and squeeze chutes must be hardier than those used for cattle. Bison do not respond well to the herding technique used with beef cattle so this must be taken into account when facilities are being constructed. Bison generally respect fences but if their needs are not met the wild instinct to roam will surface and fences become a minor deterrant to this powerful animal.%26quot;
