Fencing on the side of your house/Lower property values?
Does having Fencing on the side of your houselower its property value? Im not talking all the way up to the street but rather to the front wall of your house.|||As long as it was a nice fence and in good repair I don%26#039;t see why it would lower the value.
Where can I buy inexpensive fencing?
I am looking to put up a picket fence this spring. So far the quotes always seem to be about $2,000 it doesn%26#039;t matter if it is vinyl or wood it%26#039;s about the same. I am going to do it myself I just need the matterial. Does anyone know a good store virtual or real to buy supplies at a lower cost.|||My parents house had redwood fencing for years. A few years ago, him and his neighbor agreed to replace it with concrete block fence. The contractor stripped the old redwood fence and trashed them. I%26#039;m sure it cost him some money to rent the trash bin and have it hauled away. What I%26#039;m trying to get at is contact as many fencing contractors as possible and ask them if they have been asked to quote to replace wood fence with concrete block fence. If you find one, volunteer to them that you will remove the old fence and haul it away. Even old wood fences have enough good pieces to make a decent fence. Isn%26#039;t free better than inexpensive?
lightpulse|||Most of the major big chains should be competitive as far as price goes. Many try buying a few pieces from now until the time you plan on installing the few so the prices doesn%26#039;t seem so overwhelming. Go with vinyl, low maintenance, no painting required.|||To put up a picket fence, you need two things: Posts and picket fence panels. The posts are generally 4x4 treated wood posts, and the panels are generally 6 feet long. You should find a local lumberyard that sells both. Look in the yellow pages under %26quot;lumber dealers%26quot;. I know that everyone picks Home Depot and Lowes, but you can%26#039;t get any service there or talk to anyone who knows about your project. If you have people telling you that vinyl fencing is the same price as wood fencing, they are lying to you. Vinyl fencing is much more expensive, but it lasts forever without painting. You will need a pair of post hole diggers, and some basic tools for prying and putting the parts together: hammer, screwdrivers, etc.|||You will get the best prices from the Big Box stores. Installation can be difficult unless your experienced at installing fences properly. You must take into consideration the grade of the yard, type of soil the posts will set in, the number of gates and the placement of the fence. Never install a fence directly on a property line....keep it at least 2 inches inside. Installing a fence in a straight line also takes experience, knowledge and the right tools.
If your property is not level (most are not) you must decide if you want the fence to follow the grade or install it level at the top. Yu will then have space at the bottom that could be an issue if you are trying to keep animals or kids inside.|||If you have a Lowe%26#039;s or Home Depot - they both have a decent selection and very reasonable prices!

Are cedar grape stakes used for fencing treated with chemicals?
The stakes are approximately 6%26#039; by 2%26quot;. I know stakes used in grape vineyards are toxic, but these are used for fencing.|||Chances are very good that the cedar posts have not been treated with chemicals to prevent premature rotting. Cedar is well known for it%26#039;s natural resistance to rotting. If it was chemically treated, you should find tags on the boards that identify the chemicals used as these tags are required by law.
Good luck with your gardening.|||Cedar is naturally very risistant to weather and incest damage.Hence its popularity in outdooor uses.Chances are they have not been treated with anything.

SNAKE PROOF FENCING? I NEED SOME AUSTRALIAN INFORMATION ON FENCING OR REPELLANT FOR A FRIEND?
My friend has a property and would like to know as much information on snake repellent or preferably fencing?|||...okay, my personal experience is this

The director of the zoo wants to use 170m of fencing to enclose a petting area of 1750m^2. What are the dimensions of the petting zoo?|||Do you know it has to be rectangular? I%26#039;ll assume so. If you let x=length of one side, then you can figure out the length of the other side (temporarily call that y) since we know the perimeter of the rectangle.
2x + 2y = 170
2y = 170 - 2x
y = 85 - x
The area enclosed is 1750 m^2, so
x y = 1750
x (85 - x) = 1750
85x - x^2 = 1750
x^2 - 85x + 1750 = 0
(x-35) (x-50) = 0
x=35 or x=50
Either solution will work for the length of one side. y will turn out to be the other.
Dimensions are 35m by 50m|||There are multiple answers to this, depending on the shape of the pen.
If you go with the rectangle, you need to solve the simultaneous equations:
2a+2b = 170, (ie a=+b = 85)
ab = 1750
so a = 85-b
substituting into the second equation gives
85b-b.b =1750
b.b-85b+1750=0
(b-35)(b-50)=0
so the dimensions are 35m x 50m.
But the most efficient use of fencing would be to make a circle.
2x + 2y = 170
2y = 170 - 2x
y = 85 - x
The area enclosed is 1750 m^2, so
x y = 1750
x (85 - x) = 1750
85x - x^2 = 1750
x^2 - 85x + 1750 = 0
(x-35) (x-50) = 0

Where is the cheapest place to buy fencing for a yard in Ontario?
%26quot;The cheapest place to buy%26quot; almost anything is hard to determine in the best of circumstances. In this case, it is especially hard because you give so little to go on. When you refer to %26quot;Ontario%26quot;, are you referring to Ontario, California or are you referring to another town in the USA named Ontario? Are you referring to the canadian province of Ontario?
Wherever you are, the cheapest place to buy something as heavy and bulky as fencing will be somewhere local. Shipping costs will almost surely preclude buying from out of town. Best advice is to look in your local Yellow Pages for %26quot;fence - material%26quot; and call around for prices. You might also consider a visit to your local Lowe%26#039;s, Home Depot, or other home improvement retailer. They will work up a material list and print you out an estimate. Am I too old to start competitive fencing?
Im thinking of taking a beginer%26#039;s course starting next year as long as it doesn`t interfere with my running but at 15 I%26#039;m not sure what if it will benefit me in any way other than having a new hobby.Do you think it%26#039;s woth the expense?Will I still have a shot at competitions?|||I would say definitely try it! Though at most national and international level competitions, a majority of the fencers have been fencing from a slightly younger age (about 7-10 usually), there are still a solid amount of fencers who picked it up as teenagers, adults, or even seniors who achieve great success at the national/international level!
For a nice story, google Jujie Luan. She was a competitive track and field athlete for China until she picked fencing up at 16 or 17. In a year, she was on the Junior national team, and she went on to earn China%26#039;s first Olympic gold medal when they re-joined the Olympics. She competed in Beijing (her fourth Olympics, at age 50!!) and made the second round. Anything is possible!
Even if you don%26#039;t aspire to win the Olympics, or even compete nationally, there are regional and local tournaments that are open to anyone that you could do very well in after a very short time fencing. Most importantly, fencing is an awesome sport, and it%26#039;s one that you can do your whole life, so whether you want to use it as cross training for running, or pick up a new sport, I%26#039;d definitely recommend trying it! Is Tensioning Necessary for Field Fencing with T-Posts?
I want to put up fencing to keep neighbor dogs and coyotes off my property, but know little about it. I won%26#039;t be keeping animals inside - just protecting my cats and garden from predators.
I bought 4%26#039; high woven wire field fencing, and 34 six-foot t-posts. My land is hilly, and the fence will be climbing up and down its entire length. It is soft dirt in spots, hard clay in others, with no rocks anywhere I%26#039;ve seen.
Some places say wooden corner braces are unnecessary, that you can make braces from t-posts using the right widgets. I%26#039;m interested in that, because you wouldn%26#039;t have to dig post holes. However, no site describes how to tension this sort of %26quot;t-post only%26quot; field fence.
Let%26#039;s say I did install wooden corner braces, and try to tension the fence. How could I tension that, with the land being as uneven as it is?
Is tensioning even necesary in this situation? Maybe just rounding the corners would work.|||After Miles of fence; I have a suggestion or two.
Your corner posts should likely be a bit more substantial,,,even using Chain link fence corners.
Tension in your type can be accomplished, with help; and not strictly as tight as chain link, though some of the critters you describe might either CLIMB or DIG.
If you are able, and have the option, you might walk the line and determine the Corners, then best determine the support mechanism...IE: Anchor wires angled away from each corner? Concrete poured into the cornet Post holes? Etc.
With chain link, when I do it alone, I use a %26quot;Come Along%26quot; in multiples, and WIRE/Bracket the fence section at each post as I move along. In your case you probably can do the same, even just with one other person,,,PULLING to provide the needed tension. DON%26#039;T USE WOOD!
At the corners, if the tension preceding has been accomplished, do the same, and YES %26quot;Wrap%26quot; if possible to keep from having to cut and start again.
Again... The greater issue might be at ground level, and access through/under, by any critters.

What is the life of galvanized fencing as compared with vinyl coated chain link fabric?
not sure what you mean by chain link fabric, but if you are talking about the difference between plain galvanized and vinyl covered, then the answer is... they%26#039;ll both probably last longer then you will live, the galvanized will rust in 15 or 20 years and the vinyl covered will fade in color in about 10 or 12.|||That will actually all come back around to the manufacturer. A GOOD galvanized chain link should last 50+ years and a GOOD vinyl coated wire mesh should last 75+. Just know that there are hundreds of wire mesh manufactures in China and they are not all good companies that make good products. I have left some links below that should be very helpful. One is to an article about DIY purchasing chain link. It should be a good bit of help. The others have some pricing information about GOOD galvanized and vinyl coated wire mesh. Good luck!
A man has 340 yds.of fencing to enclose 2 separate fields,1 a rectangle 2x as long as its wide and 1 a square?
The square field must contain at least 100sq yds and the rectangular field must contain at least 800sq yds. if x is the width of the rectangular firld, what are the max and min possible values of x? What is the greatest number of square yards that can be enclosed in the two fields? Justify your answer and use calculus.|||To find the minimum width of the rectangular field, we note that the minimum area of the rectangular field is 800.
A = W*L
800 = x * 2x
800 = 2x^2
400 = x^2
x = sqrt(400)
x = 20
So the rectangular field has the width of 20 Minimum.
To find the maximum width of the rectangular field, first we find out how many yards of fencing we have to use for the square field. The area of the sqare field is minimum 100, therefore:
A = S^2
S = sqrt(A)
S = aqrt(100)
S = 10
So each side of the square field is 10 yards. The perimeter of the square field is:
P = 4S
P = 4*10
P = 40
So we use 40 yards of fencing to enclose the square field. That leaves us with 340-40 = 300 yards of fencing. The perimeter of the square field is:
P = 2*(L+W)
300 = 2(2x + x)
300 = 2(3x)
300 = 6x
x = 50
So the rectangular field has the width of 50 Maximum.
Now, we have 340 yards of fencing to enclose both fields, so:
340 = Perimeter of square + Perimeter of rectangle
340 = (4*S) + 2*(L+W)
340 = 4S + 2*(2x+x)
340 = 4S + 2*(3x)
340 = 4S + 6x
Let%26#039;s solve for S
4S = 340 - 6x
S = (340 - 6x) / 4
S = 340/4 - 6/4x
S = 85 - 3/2x
The total area of the two fields is:
A = Area of Square + Area of Rectangle
A = S^2 + (x*(2x))
A = (85 - 3/2x)^2 + 2X^2
A = 85^2 + (3/2x)^2 - 2*85*3/2x + 2x^2
A = 7225 + 9/4x^2 - 255x + 2x^2
A = 17/4x^2 - 255x + 7225
If you graph this formula, you see that this is a U-shaped graph. Finding the minimum area is easy, just get the first derivative and solve for x (which will give you x = 30), but since we are looking for the maximum area, and the area increases as you move away from 30 to either direction, and we know that the min and max of x are 20 and 50, the best thing to do is to plug in both values for x and see which is higher
f(x) = 17/4x^2 - 255x + 7225
f(20) = 17/4(20)^2 - 255(20) + 7225
f(20) = 1700 - 5100 + 7225
f(20) = 3825
f(50) = 17/4(50)^2 - 255(50) + 7225
f(50) = 10625 - 12750 + 7225
f(50) = 5100
So a rectangular field of 50x100 and a square field of 10x10 gives us the greatest square yardage|||Getting you started:
x = length of square area
y = shorter length of rectangular area

(4x) + (2y + 4y) = 340
area equations:
x^2 %26lt;=100 x%26lt;=10
(2y^2) %26lt;= 800 y^2 %26lt;=400 y%26lt;=20
One answer:
Square yard (x) is 10x10 (40 linear feet)
Rectangular yard (y) is 20 x40 (120 linear feet)
Total linear feet = 160%26#039;
A = W*L
800 = x * 2x
800 = 2x^2
400 = x^2

P = 4*10
P = 40
So we use 40 yards of fencing to enclose the square field. That leaves us with 340-40 = 300 yards of fencing. The perimeter of the square field is:
P = 2*(L+W)
300 = 2(2x + x)
300 = 2(3x)
300 = 6x
x = 50
So the rectangular field has the width of 50 Maximum.
Now, we have 340 yards of fencing to enclose both fields, so:
340 = Perimeter of square + Perimeter of rectangle
340 = (4*S) + 2*(L+W)
340 = 4S + 2*(2x+x)
340 = 4S + 2*(3x)
340 = 4S + 6x
Let%26#039;s solve for S
4S = 340 - 6x
S = (340 - 6x) / 4
S = 340/4 - 6/4x
S = 85 - 3/2x
The total area of the two fields is:
A = Area of Square + Area of Rectangle
A = S^2 + (x*(2x))
A = (85 - 3/2x)^2 + 2X^2
A = 85^2 + (3/2x)^2 - 2*85*3/2x + 2x^2
A = 7225 + 9/4x^2 - 255x + 2x^2
A = 17/4x^2 - 255x + 7225
If you graph this formula, you see that this is a U-shaped graph. Finding the minimum area is easy, just get the first derivative and solve for x (which will give you x = 30), but since we are looking for the maximum area, and the area increases as you move away from 30 to either direction, and we know that the min and max of x are 20 and 50, the best thing to do is to plug in both values for x and see which is higher
f(x) = 17/4x^2 - 255x + 7225
f(20) = 17/4(20)^2 - 255(20) + 7225
f(20) = 1700 - 5100 + 7225
f(20) = 3825
f(50) = 17/4(50)^2 - 255(50) + 7225
f(50) = 10625 - 12750 + 7225
f(50) = 5100
So a rectangular field of 50x100 and a square field of 10x10 gives us the greatest square yardage|||Getting you started:
x = length of square area
y = shorter length of rectangular area
length equation:
(4x) + (2y + 4y) = 340
area equations:
x^2 %26lt;=100 x%26lt;=10
(2y^2) %26lt;= 800 y^2 %26lt;=400 y%26lt;=20
One answer:
Square yard (x) is 10x10 (40 linear feet)
Rectangular yard (y) is 20 x40 (120 linear feet)
Total linear feet = 160%26#039;
Has anyone installed electrical fencing for an older dog, and were they trainable?
I have a silky terrier who is 4, and we can not have fences, we were thinking of moving but have decided to stay put. So now I want to put in the electrical fence so my dog has free reign, is he to old to learn his boundries?|||I recommend the brand Invisible Fencing. They will install, mark the area, and help you train your dog. I have a 8yr Dobie (neutered), and a 7yr old German Shorthaired Pointer (intact) and they stay home. They have chased cats, deer, other dogs, turkeys and Foxes. When the other animal is on the other side of the %26quot;boundary%26quot; it is simply out of reach and my dogs are finished it...I love my Invisible Fence.|||Not a good idea. How would you like to be shocked every time you got near the fence? BAD idea.|||An electric fence is an excellent solution for any age dog. The dog will probably learn very quickly where the fence is, and not go near it after that. It is certainly not inhumane--dogs don%26#039;t get shocked by just %26quot;going near%26quot; the electric fence. We have a huge yard, and our two dogs run free, getting great exercise without having to be walked. The only thing you have to be careful about, though, is that sometimes the fence will break down, either because the wire has been broken somewhere, or the batteries in the dog%26#039;s collar have run down. Hope this helps!|||Don%26#039;t worry he will learn very quickly. I%26#039;ve used the electronic fence and collar on an 11 yr old and she learned on the first attempt to cross it. Within a week she wouldn%26#039;t get within 3 feet of where it was buried.|||Electic fences are cruel...I have a terrier who is 3 and, with alot of time and effort, taught her to stay put without a fence around my house...it can be done without an electic fence...believe me...your dog is not to old to learn...
Cheaper wood or chain-link fencing to buy and have installed ?
post and plank isnt that expensive in comparison labor wise its more but product wise its cheaper|||I like the look of wood over the chain link. We are in the process of switching over ourselves.|||wood offer more privacy and neighbors friendly... go for the vinyl, composite or wood but make sure you maintain the wood fence with some wood sealant/protector.|||There are different grade of chain link fence. I would think it is cheaper than wood. More labor cost for the wood. It depends on the amount of privacy you want also and if you want the closed in look that the wood will give you. I need to put up wood fence on back lot to block my neighbors messy yard.|||I would prefer wood over chain. They go easier on the eyes and they are more %26quot;friendly looking%26quot;.
They may cost abit more and takes more time to install, but it will definitely be a good investment.
If you like gardening, You can always grow some creepers on it.|||chain link is far more cheaper, reason being --it takes less material, and labor, also wire is cheaper than cedar , Cyprus, or treated lumber

4 Rectangular Pens Each Of The Pens Is To Be 12 Feet By 9 Feet How Many Feet Of Fencing Do I Need?
Hi,
126 feet of fence would work if there are 2 rows and 2 columns of connected pens.

I hope that helps!! :-)|||It depends. If you want to put the rectangles together in a box, you only need 126 feet. However, if you need four separate pens, then you need 4[2(12+9)] which is 168 feet.

Who do I phone to have substation fencing repaired?
With school summer vacation starting tomorrow I would like to see the fencing around the electricity UK substation at Fairfield Scalby Stockton-on-Tees repaired as a matter of urgency to prevent the death of another inquisitive child.|||I work for EDF Energy in the South East.
This is the electricity generator for your area who is responsible for the sub stations.
Northern Electric - NEDL : 0800 66 88 77
I%26#039;ve contacted them for you but you have to phone 0845 070 7172 between 9:00hrs and 17:00 hrs

If it%26#039;s a sub station with overhead cables get it reported now because it%26#039;s a killer. There will be at least 11,000 volts in the input cables and a child could get a shock if he went within a couple of yards of a live conductor.|||The Substation Fencing Repair Shop|||You%26#039;d need to phone the electricity company for your area, It will be their property (anyone else, council included will deny responsibility)|||There should be a metal sign posted *somewhere* on the perimeter of that substation with the emergency contact information. How to put up chain link fencing?
I need to put up a fence for my dogs and was going to do it myself. How hard is it??|||It is pretty easy. All you need is patience, a few tools and some elbow grease. I did this a few years ago and all I needed was the following:
1. Measuring tape
2. chalk line
3. wood stakes
4. Socket/ratchet
Lay out the perimeter of the fence, use the stakes and chalk line to draw it out. Decide the spacing between fence sections. Mark the location for the holes (for posts) based on the spacing. Start installing the posts at the corners. Dig hole, put concrete, insert post, make sure post is plumb, move on to next post and repeat. Once you have all the posts in place, you just have to put up the chainlink. This is the easy part, get someone to help you, you%26#039;ll need to stretch it between fence sections.
Good luck!
|||call your local power company to mark utilities first, it%26#039;s free.
invest in a pole driver, about $20.00. It%26#039;s a weighted cone shaped tool with handles that you set over the pole and use kinda like a hammer, this is the laborious part. We never use concrete for our dog kennels. Using top horizontal poles gives it stability. How far should my horse fencing posts be spaced apart?
I am renovating my horse fence. I only have 2 older horses, so they don%26#039;t even go near the fence, the weather isn%26#039;t bad here, once in awhile it gets a storm or two, but not serious. I am using wood posts, and they sit about 3 feet in the ground. I am spacing them about 16 feet apart. I have 1%26amp; 1/2 inch poly tape that is electric. I have the corners reinforced with extra posts and so on . Is my spacing ok? It holds up fairly well. Some say 16 is perfect, while others say 8 is too close together. There is a girl down the road who has her posts about 16 feet apart and she uses the same fencing, except she uses the electro-braid. Tell me what you think!|||If you%26#039;re going with electric fencing, then I guess the 16%26#039; spacing would be adequate.
I%26#039;m always looking at %26quot;down the road%26quot; possibilities, though, like resale value of the property; so, if it were me, I%26#039;d go the extra expense of spacing the posts more like 10%26#039; apart, center to center.
Should you ever decide to enhance the appearance by adding wood boards, your lumber expense will be less for an 8-10%26#039; board, than it will be for a 16%26#039; board.
If you were talking wood fence, I%26#039;d go with 8%26#039; spacing, for the strength and again, for the reduced expense if I had to replace rails.

What is a beat and parray in the sport of fencing?
I am doing a project and I really need to know, thanks!|||A beat is a technique that can be employed to remove your opponents sword point from your presence. That is, if your opponent were pointing their sword at you, you could use a small tapping motion generated from your wrist to hit their sword with your own. This movement would then be followed with a thrust at you opponent. This technique works well with sport fencing blades as the motion can be performed very quickly due to the light weight of the sword. A beat should be used with caution when using swords such as the rapier as the large motion involved can easily be deceived and you could be struck when you opponent performs a cavazione.
A parry is nothing more than any motion that puts you sword in the oncoming path of your opponents sword creating a blocking maneuver. It is also one tempi of a dui tempi combination called a %26quot;parry riposte%26quot; which is nothing more than a block of you opponents thrust followed by a thrust of your own.|||To parry is to use your weapon to block a strike from your opponent%26#039;s weapon.

Any ideas for fencing, cheap temporary?
Need to keep q small dog in. Yard is 3/4 fenced, just need to finish. But I rent and dont want to spend lots of time and/or money.|||Hi Mellisa,
Answer one offers what is likely the least expensive fencing available.
Chain link might not be neccesary, but in rolls it%26#039;s sold at HD and Lowes 4 ft. high by 50 ft. for about a dollar a foot. Then cheap install would be paddle/shovel braced metal posts that have hooks to hold the fencing.
Less expensive might be Livestock fencing, like for farming/ cattle barriers/ chicken pens etc. It%26#039;s mesh is often larger 4 x 5 perhaps, and is sold in rolls. Chicken Wire might also work, and be inexpensive. I guess you know your dog better than we do or can advise about.
Depending on the size; strength; of the dog, and the possibility that they jump or dig, might be the only issues.
The posts I describe can be dug in a bit; or Driven in with a skedge hammer and block. I see them sold often in Green painted stock.
Steven Wolf|||Used wooden pallets make a really cheap but really ugly fence.|||Maybe use roll fencing. It comes in 3 or 4 foot high rolls and consists of wooden slats woven together by wires. It is fastened to steel posts that are driven into the ground.

I then got a couple rolls of 3-foot garden fencing (it%26#039;s like plastic coated chicken wire) and secured the fencing to the stakes using zip ties (thick ones that are about 8 inches long - they have lasted for years). Just start in the middle (halfway up) of the fencing and pull it tight. You then put in a zip tie every 6 inches or so, finishing by pulling it tight at the top and bottom. You can also leave about a 6 inch flap at the bottom, folding into your yard, to discourage any digging at the fence line.
At transitions, I used bent over nails (at a wood fence) or zip ties (at a chain link fence) to close the gaps. My dogs (toy fox terriers less than 10 pounds) have never gotten out.

What are adequate fencing requirements to contain buffalo?
A neighbor has placed 400 head of buffalo on a 160 acre pivot. A four wire fence does not seem adequate to contain them. Our laws do not reflect protection for neighbors, other livestock or motorists on a nearby highway. Do other states legislate containment requirements? If so, what?|||Here are two fairly comprehensive sites:

The 2nd site has this:

Bison do not respond well to the herding technique used with beef cattle so this must be taken into account when facilities are being constructed. Does anyone have advice for a home owner looking to enclose a small backyard with wood fencing?
Hello, try calling a couple of local contractors and discuss what you want to do with them, this should give you several ideas about the different types of solutions available and the costs involved. Hope this helps:-)|||Those metal things you attach to the post and pound into the ground, like in Shorty%26#039;s catalog, seem like a good idea if it is a small yard. Way easier than the concrete route, but a bit more costly.|||Check your municipal codes; in my city the posts (unattractive side of fence) have to be facing your yard, not neighbors.
Are kangoroo paw and horse tail good for fencing in front yard?
NO!
I have horsetailgrowingin my fountain and it really spreads. It looks messy when it dies back too.
Sorry, I have no experience with kangaroo Paws.
Try boxwood or privet. Privet should be hedged frequently with electric shears or else it grows to 10 feet and gets mangey looking.

To divide into four pens they will need 3 more piece of fencing Y long. [You could do it X but that would require more fencing to cover the same area]

What type of fences do we need for a pony? We have some field fencing and cattle panel. And we live in woods.?
Should we use electric? We need a few more details on how to hook it up. We are also looking for the most economical way to go.|||the only time i have ever use electric is for one of mine but she can flat tear a fence down, when puttting up a fence just make sure you pull it very tight i have field fence and have the wooden post ,make sure they have plenty of run room to play in good luck oh field fence comes in 330 ft, 4ft high about 150.00 to 200.00 shop around before you buy|||for my 30%26quot;mini i used Tposts ($5 or less each) and the 16foot cattle pannel(anywhere from$15-$25) for a pony make sure thespacinginthe fence is 2x4inchesor less. hog pannels work great as well. it was under $200 to fence in half an acre for her. go to www.tractorsupply.com or a farm store in your area, and they can instruct you on how to build the fence. I dont like using electric, just because i have children... (no matter how many time you tell them no.. they always want to learn the hard way)..|||i personally would not use electric. if your pony is an escape artist then consider it but i would try wood instead. it depends on your climate though. is it rainy, hot, cold...? something like this would be what i would use:

I personally like electric fencing. Even my wood fences I protect with electric. Either get a thin gauge wire that will break if a horse gets hung up (17 gauge is good) or invest in the tubular stuff. Make sure it%26#039;s attached firmly; if the horse gets a leg through he can pull the wire loose and run off with it. This is bad for the horse; the wire can actually act like a saw and slice into a leg badly. It%26#039;s rare, especially with ponies (they%26#039;re just smarter!), but it does happen.
To connect it up:
Make sure everything the wire touches is insulated! Otherwise, it%26#039;ll get grounded out and be useless. Some poles come insulated or with attached insulators; if you use wood poles (the best), you%26#039;ll need to get the nail on insulators.
You don%26#039;t need to electrify every wire. Do the top one and the bottom one, and every other one in between (depends how many you have - with some of my horses I use only one wire total; with the thoroughbreds I use 7)
Make sure you have a really good grounding rod for the charger!! Copper, pounded at least 3 feet into the ground, and properly connected to the ground stud on the charger. If it%26#039;s not well grounded, it will not work, particularly in dry weather. Make sure the ground rod is close to the charger, but not within 50 feet of any underground power lines.
Most chargers should be kept indoors. For the run to the fence outside, use the special insulated wire made for this, not just any old piece you have. There%26#039;s quite a charge in this wire, and you can get a fire if you%26#039;re not careful.
The wire you want to be charged doesn%26#039;t need to be in any particular configuration; that is, it doesn%26#039;t need to be in a continuous circle or anything. Just attach the wires you want charged to another wire that%26#039;s charged (or the initial supply wire) in one place. Make sure the weeds, underbrush, and tree limbs are cut back so none will touch the wire, even when the wind blows. That will ground out the system so it won%26#039;t zap the horse.
I like solar powered chargers best (they also don%26#039;t need to be indoors), but they don%26#039;t last as long as the ones you just plug in. I don%26#039;t like the battery powered ones at all.
I also would invest in a lightning arrester. The fence is in an exposed area and may get zapped. That happened to me; the lightening bolt blew the charger off the wall, melted the nearby wires to my security system in the barn, followed the security system wires to the house, set that off and melted it out so I couldn%26#039;t shut it off, burned out the barn phone, etc., etc., etc. It%26#039;s only happened to me once in 50 years, but it does happen!
Okay. Make sure the charger is turned off!!! Then attach the grounding wire to the ground connector on the charger, and the fence supply line to the live connector on the charger. Turn the charger on.
Test the fence. If the charger has a signal light, that should be on or flashing. You%26#039;ll also want to buy a fence tester - under $5 - because testing the fence with your hand can be painful or inconclusive. (If you have dry rubbersoled shoes, you may not get zapped even if it%26#039;s working). Test it in several places to make sure it works everywhere. If it doesn%26#039;t, it%26#039;s most likely that the charged wire is touching something uninsulated and grounding out, or the charger is not adequately grounded.
One last thing - if you use straight wire, it can be hard to see. Flag it with orange surveyor tape or something similar until the horses know where it is. Introduce the horses to the zap yourself - have them on a loose lead, let them mosey around near the fence till they touch it, and then make sure they don%26#039;t run into it in a panic if they%26#039;re startled. Once you%26#039;ve done that, they%26#039;ll know not to touch it and they%26#039;ll be fine.
Never use straight wire without charging it. Never use barbed wire, charged or uncharged.
Sounds like a lot of work, doesn%26#039;t it? ;) It%26#039;s really the easiest, cheapest fence to build, and works well with the majority of horses. It would be nice if we could all have fancy wood or vinyl fence, but horses get injured on that stuff too.
I would not use electric fence in some places: near a highway or busy street; in small lots with close neighbors; for stallions ever; or for horses that don%26#039;t respect it.
Last: read the instructions. Use at your own risk.

We want a dog, but have no fence. Are there any other fencing options?
My brother and i have been looking for a dog to keep our handicap mother company, but we are currently renting a house which allows pets, but is not fenced. The house and the yard are both very large and spacious. Are there any safe options besides putting a fence or electric fence in, because each of those require digging into the yard.|||Your best optiom would be an %26quot;invisible%26quot; type fence. The %26quot;wireless%26quot; fences often have dead zones where the signal is blocked by some object. You also have little control of the shape of the field which in most cases limits the area of the yard covered. And if staked out, your dog has NO chance of evadeing another dog coming into your yard and attacking it. The wire can be installed with clips above ground though it is better if protected (from lawn mowers etc,) when buried. You can take most of the system with you when you move as well.
I have had this type of fence for over 10 years now.
·
The %26quot;Invisible%26quot; type of fence consists of three things. First is the wire which is buried an inch or two into the ground. Second is the transmitter which is mounted to the wall indoors and connected to the fence wire, and third is the collar that the dog wears. The transmitter sends out an AM radio band signal that the collar will sense if your pet gets to close to the electronic field. The collar will then deliver a correction. Some of the better ones will give a warning beep prior to delivering a shock. Though it is a strong shock it will not harm the pet in any way. Small marker flags are placed along the inner edge of the field about 5 to 10 feet apart during the training period and removed (every other one) as the pet gets used to the fence.
Huskies are escape artists. We have 14 of them. The only thing that I have found that they can%26#039;t go over or under is invisible type fencing. Some folks say that it doesn%26#039;t work on Huskies. They don%26#039;t know what they are talking about. You can%26#039;t buy the cheap stuff, like what they sell at Lowe%26#039;s or Home Depot or PetSmart etc. The best I have found is the Smart Dog 2100 by Innotek. You can find it on line at several sites, discounted for less than $300.00 with 2 collars. Extra collars are about $80.00. The kit has everything needed. The collars are rechargeable (unlike the %26quot;Invisible Fence%26quot; and most others where you have to buy the proprietary (one place to get it = expensive) batteries every 3 or so months), has battery backup for the transmitter, run through prevention, waterproof, etc. Innotek now owns Invisible Fence brand. Be sure to use heat shrink type splices in the wire if needed. They are available at marine supply stores. Do not use the %26quot;weatherproof wire nuts%26quot; from Lowe%26#039;s etc. They will not work for this application. Use an edger to dig the %26quot;trench%26quot; for the wire. The wire only has to be buried 1 or 2 inches down.
The key is taking the time to train your pet. I have known of people to pay big money to install a fence, strap the collar on their dog and then complain that the fence is junk when the dog blows right through it. Also, you do not mention the breed of dog. Longhaired breeds require a longer contact probe on the collar (these are included with the system above). Training may take awhile, one of ours took 18 months (she was a bit stubborn) before we trusted her, most were pretty good in a month or so and we have one that it only took 3 days! The amazing thing is that we can take the collar off, put them on a leash and when we head towards the perimeter their brakes come on immediately! You can also block off areas of the yard that you don%26#039;t want them in. When hurricane Isabelle came through we had no power for 3 weeks, the terrain was changed with all the fallen trees, and the underground wire for the fence was damaged and NONE of the kids even tried the fence. As I said earlier, the people who say that it doesn%26#039;t work don%26#039;t know what they are talking about. We have 14 Huskies (15 until we lost one over the summer due to medical reasons), all free to run around, contained in our 6 acre yard. And no I am not a dealer ..... just a satisfied customer with 14 hardheaded Huskies most of them rescued as adults. We can leave them outside unsupervised for hours with no problems. However, we do not leave them outside when we leave the house.
It will not keep other animals out including the neighbor’s brats. Neither will a 6 foot stockade fence ... this I learned when I lived elsewhere and was attacked by a neighbors dog in my backyard. As far as people being scared of dogs, well if a 15 to 20 foot barrier field isn%26#039;t enough, neither would a chain link fence be. Besides, if the pet stays on your property who cares if they are unreasonably scared. As far as a dog running through ... well yes, that could happen, however, with proper training it is unlikely. Huskies have an extremely high prey drive. Where we live we have a lot of wildlife, large and small. The kids will line up along the edge of the field and watch the rabbits, geese, deer etc. They won%26#039;t challenge the fence. The deer and geese have learned where the kids can and cannot go and will stay just outside %26quot;Husky country%26quot;. Sometimes within 5 feet of the kids. As I said it does work. The key is training. That is the most important part of the installation of the fence
Some people advocate the “wireless” type of fence. You have little control over the coverage area. The other problem with them is %26quot;dead%26quot; areas caused by obstructions to the signal by things in your walls, trees and such. Your dog WILL find these areas.
Others advocate tying a pet out “because “invisible” fences are so cruel!” Or “why do you want to electrocute your dog?”, however, think about what could your pet do if attacked by another animal while tied? Where is he going to go to get away? At least with an “invisible” fence or a conventional fence he has a decent chance of evading an attacker or fighting back.
25 years of being owned by Siberian Huskies. I currently have 14 Huskies most of whom were rescued by us from people who didn’t know what they were getting into|||Yes,there are wireless electric fences,or you could use a tie-out.
http://www.invisibleelectricdogfence.com...|||You can get electric fencing that doesn%26#039;t require the wires in the ground - I believe Invisible Fencing makes them. Good luck!|||you could keep it a house dog. just get a small loving dog and you can pay her neighbors to take it on walks|||Unfortunately, you really should have a dog if you have an unfenced yard. It is important that you know that this does not just protect the dog. It protects you. If your dog charged another dog happy or not and injured someone or another dog. you could get in big trouble.

She won%26#039;t go past the line for anything. In fact, the other day she started barking for someone to come out and get her ball that had gone over the line. She doesn%26#039;t go near it and it only took one time for her to get shocked. We can%26#039;t have a fence in our yard so it was the perfect option for us. Not much fun for a dog when they have so much space to run about. Good luck!|||get a dog run or those easy fences you get from homedepo. or you might want to consider getting a part of your yard fenced in.
get like shrubs or bushes as a barrier
or just train your dog not to run away but that will be risky and take a while|||get a small house dog.|||You can train your dog to stay in his/her boundary. I have two dogs and no fence between them and a busy street. I have no problems letting them roam in the back, they know their boundaries. Even if a cat/ rodent runs across their path they will only give chase till they reach their boundary, then stop.
You can also use electric fencing, but if your a good trainer, you shouldn%26#039;t have a need for it. I didn%26#039;t use a training tool to train my dogs; except for my voice. Some people put their dogs a 20 foot lead and once they get close to %26quot;out of bounds%26quot; pull on the lead and say NO. This does work but you have to be consistent. Others have suggested a running line that ties on to the house and a pole or a tree, this works but you have to make sure you get swivel leads this will prevent your dog from getting tangled up. NEVER EVER leave your dog unattended when using a running line. The last thing you want is to find your dog choked it self on the line.|||They sell radio collar range collars. They take a battery in the collar, and the box sits in the building. They are about $200 and much easier than other electric fencing options.
Fencing: How do you know which weapon to use?
I%26#039;m thinking about joining my school%26#039;s fencing team next year and I%26#039;m actually a bit clueless................|||Beginners usually begin with the foil, after about 3 weeks of training.
I used the foil for about a year before my coach showed me the other two weapons-epee and sabre.
Each weapon is different, and so is each fencer.
You will learn about these weapons and eventually pick one that suits you.
It sort of just happens, you find one that works the best for you.
My coach said it%26#039;s like Harry Potter. %26quot;The sword chooses the fencer.%26quot;
;-)
Your coach will have you use all three weapons once you have been trained, and one will %26quot;call%26quot; to you, you will enjoy fencing the most with the weapon.|||They%26#039;ve answered the what, but here%26#039;s a little of the why.
Traditionally beginning fencers begin with the foil as it is the most %26quot;structured%26quot; of the three weapons, and technique from foil is also the basis for the other two (epee and saber.)
A basic mastery (in the loosest sense as it takes a LONG time to master foil) will teach footwork, distance, timing, phrasing (and the concept of right-of-way), point control / accuracy, and speed.
Once you get started, I suggest picking up a copy of %26quot;Foil, Saber, and Epee Fencing%26quot; by Garret, Kaidanov, and Pezza. It may not be the best text, but is concise and will give a brief overview of the history behind, and technique involved with each of the three weapons - without putting the reader immediately to sleep.|||True Almost everyone starts w/ a foil.
But you don%26#039;t have to worry about that Because your coach will be the one choosing which one will suit you most when your about to fence.
And i don%26#039;t think they will let you use any of those for the first few weeks anyway|||There are only three weapons used in fencing. The foil, the epee and the sabre.

Whats a good way to get into shape for Tennis/Fencing?
I%26#039;ve been running, cycling, and doing standard warm ups like push up, sits up, crunchs, and stuff. I plan to take up tennis in a year or so for my school and take up fencing in college|||Here are the conditioning exercises we do at our fencing club:
First spend about fifteen minutes warming up by jogging, skipping, and %26quot;grapevines%26quot; (running sideways alternating the trailing foot passing the leading foot in front then behind). Stretch the legs by walking and every third step reach down and touch the toes of the leading foot.
%26quot;Roach stomping%26quot; (rapid jumping from one foot to the other) (15 sec)
While roach stomping, alternately squat and touch the ground then leap up as high as you can. Keep roach stomping. (25 times)
Ten each of four types of push-ups: clapping, normal, wide, and hands together (%26quot;diamonds%26quot; or %26quot;triangles%26quot;).
Regular crunches (10), then ten %26quot;death%26quot; crunches (don%26#039;t let your shoulders or legs touch the floor).
%26quot;Suicide%26quot; footwork - as fast as you can do one advance and retreat, two advances and retreats, three, etc. until you get to ten advances and ten retreats, then do one retreat and one advance, two each, etc.until you get to ten retreats and advances.
Leg lifts (5) hold for a 4-count.
Wall sits (put your back to the wall with your legs bent like you%26#039;re sitting in a chair). Hold for one minute, repeat five times.
Lunges. recover back (50)|||keep working out, and gradually increase the intensity.

What is the stanadard diameter size for metal poles used in residential wood fencing? Are there other sizes?
I have a 6 foot tall wood fence with metal poles that are sunk in a concrete retaining wall. I need to redo the fence to be an 8 foot fence, and am hoping that I can add to the existing metal poles to allow for a taller fence. One of the ways I hope to do this is to add length to the tops of the existing poles or to place smaller or larger poles inside or around the current poles.|||Steel pipe come in 6 meter(about 20 ft) standard length,and come in many sizes and class.A,B,C.D.E(thickness)0.5 %26quot;.0.75.0.75%26quot;,1%26quot;.1.5%26quot;.2%26quot;.3%26quot;4%26quot;6%26quot;.8%26quot;and .........Get one that suit you,for outdoor application ,strongly suggest you buy galvanized pipe for rust corrosion|||What an odd combination???
First of all, you may want to check local codes,,,IE: in the US, counties and cities have specific codes they enforce for many things, one perhaps being fencing height, in your area. You may also have to purchase a permit? If that isn%26#039;t an issue then I suggest,,,
Galvanized pipe, such as that sold for chain link fence, in a larger inside diameter or smaller outside diameter than the existing pipe, cut to size allowing extra for the fit. Certainly it would be best if the fit is snug, but you can take the effort to drill and bolt,,,or clamp at the joint? Seems labor intensive to proceed this way, in any case.
If I was contracted to do the job, I%26#039;d pull the metal poles, dispose of them, and use treated 4 x 4 posts, no less than 10 ft. long with no less than 2 ft. buried, then frame the fence posts for support and add fencing material.

Location: St. Louis, MO|||Good old fashioned privet is probably your best option as far as cost. You can get young plants in bundles from your local nursery at a reasonable cost. -- if cutting through the area isn%26#039;t an issue (people and dogs can quickly destroy new plantings), then you can buy %26quot;liners%26quot; -- small plants that will grow nicely if you provide the correct growing conditions for them. Much cheaper than onsie-twosies in 5 gallon cans at the nursery.
-- if it%26#039;s visual privacy you need, and not a barrier, a small tree or big shrub or two nicely situated can give you that without much trouble or expense. Think mockorange, amur maple, many different viburnums, shrub roses, etc.
-- formal hedges look bad when they get gappy or one plant doesn%26#039;t grow as well as others (often because of foot traffic!). Consider using a border of mixed species, planted in slight curves instead of straight lines.
-- if money is really tight, many shrubs can be easily rooted from cuttings. Lilac, forsythia, shrub roses, and many, many others.... %26quot;Liners%26quot; are often well-rooted cuttings -- figure adding an extra year to the project for DIY cuttings.

I am trying to locate a source for old fashiond wire fencing.?

The fencing is about 36 to 46 inches high and has a decorative scalloped top edge and the mesh is adequate to keep small critters out of the garden.

What is the difference between cheap fencing sabres and expensive fencing sabres?
All sabers used in competition must conform to the S2000 standard, but within that spectrum there is wide variance on the quality (or perceived quality of the blade). For example, blades JL blades are made in China are considerably less expensive than blades made in France (Prier). While the Chinese products may not necessarily be inferior to their French counterparts, the perception is that these blades tend to be break or set easily.
Further, some blades are labeled %26quot;FIE Maraging%26quot; means that the blade is made of maraging steel. Maraging steel is a special maraging steel that has increased toughness and flexibility to ordinary steels. International (FIE) competition requires the used of maraging blades in foil and epee events (but NOT in saber events). These blades will generally last longer than their non-maraging counterparts, but the cost is that much more.
Further cost differences may come from better (name brand) sockets, leather pads (not plastic), better grips (leather, or rubber over metal), lighter (or heavier guards), or further upgrades.
As a beginning saberist, a cheap fencing saber is perfectly acceptable, since you WILL break blades in the beginning. It%26#039;s considerably easier on the pocket book if you break a $20 blade rather than a $150 blade.

David has available 400 yards of fencing and wishes to enclose a rectangular area.?
Express the area A of the rectangle as a function of the width x of the rectangle.
The answer is -x^2+200x. How do you get the answer?|||Allow x to be the width. You have 400 yards total, and are is length x width. So what is the length?
The length is (400 - 2x) / 2 , that is, the length of one side is 400 yards minus the two widths of x, and divided by 2 because there are two lengths. So if:
length = (400 - 2x) / 2
width = x
area = length x width
then.....
area = (x)((400 - 2x) / 2)
divide out the 2 and you get area = (x)(200 - x)
now multiply the x through and you get.........
area = 200x - x^2|||Width is x, and 2 * (length+width) = 400
So length = 400/2 - width = 200-x
So area = length * width = (200-x) * x = -x^2 + 200x.
.|||Area of a rectangle is length (L) x width (W).
And are given width=X
And are given 2X+2L=400 yds
So you derive L=(400-2X)/2
Plugging that into the A=L x W formula gives you:
A = (400-2X)/2 x X
That renders down to:
A = (200-X) x X
A = 200X-X^2

A farmer with 1850 meters of fencing wants to enclose a rectangular plot that borders on a straight highway. I?
The answer gonna be in square meters.|||The greatest area you can get is a square shape - that being all four sides are equal. Since 1850 meters is the total length of fence, divide that by 4 sides of the fence.
1850 meters/4 sides = 462.5 meters/side
For the total area of the fence enclosure multiply 462.5 meters times 462.5 meters.
462.5 meters x 462.5 meters = 213,906.25 square meters
1850 meters/4 sides = 462.5 meters/side
For the total area of the fence enclosure multiply 462.5 meters times 462.5 meters.
462.5 meters x 462.5 meters = 213,906.25 square meters

What is the best type of fencing to support Concorde grape vines & is there any special secret to growing them
They were just put in between the sidewalk %26amp; the south facing wall of a stucco garage. [ BTW..... We do live in Alberta]|||Hi,
Not realy a secret: lots of sun + good soil + water. Plus I use fruit tree spikes for fertilizer.

Square meter, How much fencing do I need?
I have just been accepted for an allotment plot 120sq meters. I want to get organised and buy some wire fencing to go around the outside. Only been able to pop down for a quick look and am guesstimating that the shorter ends are about 2.5meters long.
How much fencing do I need?
Thanks in advance|||IF it%26#039;s 120 sq Metres area and 2.5m wide the length must be 48m so its 48 +48 + 2.5 + 2.5 = 101Metres.
P.S Length x Breadth = Area so 2.5 x 48 = 120
PPS Big mistake there podge. lol Aww he changed it.|||2.5 x 48 = 120 therefore the sides of the allotment are around 48 metres.
So you will need 2 x 48 plus 2 x 2.5 metres.
= 96 + 5 metres
= 101 metres.
Since the 2.5 metres is a guesstimate I would make that at least 110 metres.|||If you are correct that the shorter dimensions are 2.5m the longer sides will be 48m (48m x 2.5m = 120 sq.m)
The fencing required to encircle this will,therefore, be (2x48)+(2x2.5).
This is 96+5 = 101meters.
It sure will be a strange allotment!
How much fencing do I need?
Thanks in advance|||IF it%26#039;s 120 sq Metres area and 2.5m wide the length must be 48m so its 48 +48 + 2.5 + 2.5 = 101Metres.

The cost of fencing of wire around a circular field is Rs2640 at the rate of Rs12 per meter.Find cost at rate ?
OF RS. 0.50 PER SQUARE METER TO MAKE THE FIELD ABLE FOR AGRICULTURE.|||Rs2640 / (Rs12/m) = 220 m
using the approximation 蟺 鈮?22/7.
r 鈮?(220 m) / 2 / (22/7) 鈮?35 m
A 鈮?(22/7)(35)^2 m^2
Cost 鈮?(RS. 0.50/m^2)((22/7)(1,225) m^2)
Cost 鈮?Rs 1,925
Using a more exact value of 蟺 yields Rs 1,925.77|||Okay, let%26#039;s find how many metres of wire go around the field.
The cost of the fencing is equal to the number of metres, multiplied by the rate.
Thus, we can find the number of metres by taking 2640 divided by 12, which gives us 220.
There are 220 metres of wire that are needed to go around the field.
Hence, at a rate of RS 0.50, the cost would be RS 0.5 x 220 = RS 110.
Hope I was of help!

How fit do I need to be to start fencing?
I am very interested in taking it up as a sport but I am also very unfit. Will I need to become fitter before I can consider it or could I use fencing as a way to become fitter in the first place? How hard will it be for me?|||As with any sport you need to be fit. You would be better to join a fitness training gym, and then go onto your fencing sport when you have got yourself fit.|||I don%26#039;t know anything about fencing.
I don%26#039;t know how (un)fit you are.
But I think you should do the fencing. Don%26#039;t worry about whether you%26#039;re good at it. Just enjoy yourself! If it%26#039;s too hard, you can always take a raincheck while you get yourself fit again.
Life%26#039;s too short to worry about whether you%26#039;re going to succeed to find things difficult.
=D|||It wont be as hard to start of with and you will need a lot of patience.
However to improve fitness i suggest jogging beforehand, fencing will help you to become fit ONCE you get past learning all the techniques etc.
good luck :)|||Heehee! I am also Very unfit (but skinny) and I love fencing. You really don%26#039;t have to be THAT fit.
- You need good arm muscles
-You need good overall leg muscles
But all these great musclely powers come over time
It not a running, moving sport. Its more a balance strain-on-muscles sport, so it ain%26#039;t that bad.
DO IT- ITS GOOD FUN AND ORIGINAL(not many people do it..)
Good Luck
from your unfit fencing buddy, Alice =D|||In my hour classes I found that fencing was only as tiring and difficult as the amount of effort I put in. If you pay attention, don%26#039;t let small failures get to you, and *want* to push yourself, then you can use fencing to get fit. It%26#039;s not just speed or strength, it%26#039;s also tactics and brains.|||It depends really how dedicated you become. There are some people who can cope with hardly moving at all because they have good hand work and anticipation. However if you want to become good it is a good idea to become fitter though it is not neccessary to become astonishingly fit.

Is it expensive to remove a drive way? Would it retain more value if I left it instead of fencing the property
A house I may buy has a small front yard, and a slightly larger back yard if we removed the not-so-nice car port. We%26#039;d like to fence off the entire property (which isn%26#039;t much aside from the house), w/a privacy fence. Is it going to be expensive to do this? In the end would either options affect the property value?
The car port has cement under it.|||The cost of the fence will depend on the material used. A privacy fence will increase the value.
Is there a garage in addition to the carport? If not... leave the carport for some sort of covered parking. Consider converting the carport into a garage. That will increase the value.|||To remove the driveway you would have to hire the contractor, his equipment and he would have to rent the dumpsters to dispose of the concrete, etc. Then you would probably have to get fill to fill in the empty spaces. Depending on the size it would run quite a few, not couple, thousand. If you plan on ever selling the place it would probably be better to do what the last gentleman said.

Can my neighbor attach wire fencing to my split rail fence?
wrknprgrs has the best advise. most places require that a fence not be right on the property line.|||Is your fence *right* on the property line, where he can attach it without coming across onto your property? The the neighbors can probably latch on. (If it would damage your fence, you may be able to object on those grounds . . . .)
Or would he be trespassing onto your land in order to attach his wire to your fence? If they have to bring their fence onto your property to make the attachment, then they need your permission to do it.
This kind of thing is one of the reasons why some people will set the fence a few inches inside the property line - so that the neighbors can%26#039;t latch on without your permission.|||if your fence is on the property line why not?|||not legally... not if it%26#039;s your fence... and on YOUR property, as required by most jurisdictions|||I would think that it would be your choice because the split rail belongs to you and is on your property.|||No, not if it%26#039;s your property and on you property line. He can attach it outside your fence.|||Not by the hair of his chinny chin chin. He however can sink his own posts 6 inches on his property line and put up a wire fence. but he should have to get permit to do it. Check with your local gov offices to find code requirements

What is the duration of a fencing game?
I am doing a French project and all it asks for is the duration so I don%26#039;t know the details very well just tell me the average.|||It is different every time...
Give me more details maybe?
Usually they go by %26quot;touches%26quot;...
Whoever gets to 15, or 5, touches first wins.
In the 15 touch bouts, you get a minute break when someone reaches 8 touches...
Sabre is faster than foil, and foil is faster than epee...

What is the best type of paint to use on white cedar fencing?
I had a picket cedar fence installed this spring, and was going to paint it white. Many people said if I started painting it, it would be an ongoing thing. I decided to leave it natural. I guess you could ask at Lowe%26#039;s if there is something that would be appropriate to seal the wood with. But, I love mine just like it is.|||NONE, why destroy the natural beauty. Is there a way to learn Fencing alone?
I was wondering if I can get a Fencing teaching dvd and practice with a saber toy sword alone by myself that way? Like a dance with swords or something?|||you can learn the basic movements. Perry, Feign, Thrust, etc/
but like any fighting art. the true knowledge and skill development comes from fighting, or fencing.|||Nope...
Fencing requires a partner / opponent.
